Oat and Cashew Waffles

The perfect versatile snack; dress into a delicious sweet with a drizzle of honey or simply enjoy as a warm nutty snack.

To Prep: 10 minutes
To Cook: 12 minutes
Serve: 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 1.5 cups rolled oats
  • 0.33 cups raw cashews
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt

Instructions:

  • Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender, and mix until well combined and slightly thickened.
  • Fill waffle maker to the desired level, close the lid and allow to cook for 10-12 minutes. Do not open the lid before it is finished, as waffles may tear apart.
  • Serve hot or cold, with your favorite fresh berries and other seasonal fruit…Bone Appetite!

Notes:

Nuts contain healthy fats, fibre, protein, plant chemicals, vitamins (vitamin E) and minerals (copper and magnesium). However excessive amounts can lead to weight gain as fat is energy (calories/ kilojoules) rich. Aim for 30g per day (one small handful).
